The Ultimate Evil

A Child Abuse Awareness Blog

The Vigilante Award Update

As those of you who visit my blog regularly or have chatted with me at the BACA Nation radio show know, I have been working on a design for an award to be given to sites and organizations attacked by pedophile and sexual predator groups, showing we are doing our jobs correctly exposing their methods and taking them down. I’ve been working on this idea since June, went public with it in July. My design is almost complete and my good friend, Strings, at BACA will be working on the actual medals to be handed out if we can take it that far.

Recently, I came across a site that mentions the exact same idea. I know the Admin of that site, Pagans Against Child Abuse, and know she has been keeping an eye on The Ultimate Evil and BACA Nation for a while. I am happy that my idea is catching on, even though she has given us no credit. I feel the more of us who can make people realize our work IS doing what we set out to do by making awards like this instead of running scared, the closer we are to winning this fight.

I encourage anyone else who comes here to do the same if you have your own organization. Let’s adorn ourselves with as many medals and awards as possible for being a child abuser’s worst nightmare!

HOOAH!!

***Note: “Vigilante Award,” is sort of tongue-in-cheek because of how abusers and their sympathizers call me and the rest of us “vigilantes.” No worries, that won’t be the official title LOL. I already have the name picked out but won’t post it here until I’ve completed the copyright process. Too many people without an idea of their own who may misuse the whole concept before we get a chance to use it for child advocacy.***

Meghan! Great hearing from you! I’m sorry it’s been a while. Yeah, I’ve been working on it all Summer, right? Truth be told, time and family have kept me from really scratching it out on a tablet the way I should. Strings is waiting for the design, although I’m not sure what we can do with it yet. I’m very fortunate to have him willing to help me. We can discuss plans for its future use once it is actually designed. You know, once I can take that vacay I was supposed to be on lol.

Oh, don’t you worry! The design WILL be going to the copyright office! I already have the extra forms from when I sent in my Child’s Purple Heart design. I need to design it first, then transfer it over to the design submission page. Once that is done, even the idea will be copyrighted if I so choose.

I feel very flattered my idea is catching on. Yes, it bothers me that I was not given credit or asked to collaborate on what was clearly my idea they are using, but it isn’t about me OR them. It’s about the kids and it’s about showing these monsters they are NOT winning! The more of us who create these awards and wear them with honor, the more of them who get the message we are NOT backing down!

That said, I hope anyone else who uses this idea will come to me so we can work together to form an alliance of awarded fighters in this cause.

Thanks for stopping by and for your support, again, Meghan! (I just noticed I’ve been misspelling your name in our e-mails. I’m sooo sorry!) Take care!

aNoN: As requested, I’m only posting this part of your comment :):

“didn’t you like already do something like this with the purple heart ribbon a long time ago? you had something on the side about sites you were awarding with your purple heart ribbon. since you have that copyrighted maybe you could include it in the award?
(this is your favorite aNoN. please keep the rest of this comment private like always. thx)

Yes, I did! Wow, great memory! That was late last year. I even had another page specifically to list the sites I was “awarding.” Things got hectic with my work on what used to be my group, PACA, and my daughter was needing her homeschooling mom more, so I closed off that page to private and removed that part of my sidebar. I always intended to get back to it. Now’s my chance, I guess.

Well, aNoN, we will have to see! lol It’s crossed my mind, yes. It would also help speed along the copyright process of this award/ medal of honor by implementing an already copyrighted design. Thank you for the suggestion and support!

As always, I’ll reply to the rest of your message via e-mail. I appreciate why you wanted this part posted publicly. Thank you with all my heart!!!

“Frank”: I’m not posting your comment only because I cannot edit content. I don’t really want so many vulgarities here, so if you want to re-post without the harsher words, please feel free. I mean no disrespect and believe me, this subject brings out some of those same words from me! It’s only that I don’t want to offend anyone or kids who come here with such an excessive amount of harsh vulgarities.

First, thank you for your support! It means a lot to me and to everyone else in this fight!

Second, thank you for your kind words about me, personally. I’m glad my personal posts meant so much to you and helped you with your own demons. Please, feel free to e-mail me or leave me your e-mail if you wish to speak more in private.

Third (and this one made me laugh a little), no, sweety, I’m not awarding people who break the law or take the law into their own hands. The title, “Vigilante Award,” is sort of tongue-in-cheek because of how abusers and their sympathizers call me and the rest of us “vigilantes.” No worries, that won’t be the official title LOL. I already have the name picked out but won’t post it here until I’ve completed the copyright process. Too many people without an idea of their own who may misuse the whole concept before we get a chance to use it for child advocacy.

Be sure to come back SOON for updates ;).

Apologies, Ms. SMP, for suggesting anything sinister re the term “Vigilante.” Wonderful response, love! Gave me a chuckle!

My deepest apologies for my language. My temper most often influences my tongue, I’m afraid.

I believe I will be writing to you shortly in a more private fashion. There is a subject I would like for you to have a go at after your project is complete.

    You have a lovely day!

Talk talk talk… I can’t do anything with it if it you don’t get me the design to work with, now CAN I? 😛

Most likely be something in bronze (to keep costs down)…

Strings: DUDE! Hellish Summer! You should know, I ranted enough about it lol.

Bronze sounds awesome. I can do full color for paper and web sites. Cloisonne can come later when someone wins the lottery lol. Bronze, though, fits well with the symbolism I’m using. Perfect, in fact! Silver and silvertones are my favorite with jewelry, but this is different, should be unique, and the metal should fit the idea of the design – which bronze does.

I’ll send it to you today or tomorrow. It’s done. I just need to clean it up in my sketch pad and get it into my computer for you and copyright (naturally, you’ll have free use ;)). I’ll send you the outline soon. Can’t wait till you see it. I’m not ashamed to admit I’m proud of myself lol.

Meghan: I am SO sorry! I deleted your comment! I was trying to switch comment widgets and JS/Echo deleted your comment when I was using yours to look at the moderator abilities it gave me. Well, at least it kept my reply to you lol. I’m so sorry, though! Not doing THAT again!!!
